Carrier India, consumer durables maker on 30 October 2012 commissioned its air conditioning plant at Bawal in Haryana.
The plant has installed capacity of seven lakh units per annum which can be raised to 10 lakh units every year.
Meanwhile, Carrier Midea, a JV between Carrier and Midea is planning to augment its production capacity in India. The JV is likely to invest Rs 500 crore to expand its production capacity at its newly commissioned plant and to roll out products for residential segment. Carrier holds 40 per cent stake in the JV, while the rest lies with Midea. The company will launch home ACs, both in split and window categories, separately under Carrier and Midea brands.
