The foundation stone for Shell’s brand new technology and innovation centre was laid on 8 November 2012 in Bangalore.
This new development will be spread over 40 acre at Devanahalli near Bangalore. It will house up to 1,500 technology specialists, who will work on some of Shell’s key projects globally. The new centre will be operational by 2015. However, investment details of the project. The technology centre at Bangalore will encompass the full breadth of Shell’s scientific and engineering capability by providing a focus for fundamental and applied research to sit alongside subsurface and facility engineering.
Earlier, the company had indicated to the Karnataka Government that it would invest about Rs 1,376 crore at the time of signing a MoU during the global investors’ meet in June 2010.
