Greenply Industries intends to ramp up the capacity of its medium density fibreboard (MDF) in Uttarakhand.
The company is likely to raise the capacity from 600 cubic mtrs of MDF per day to 1,200 cubic mtrs of MDF per day at Pantnagar in the state. Also, the company plans to manufacture value-added products at its existing MDF unit at Pantnagar.
This apart, the company has approved the setting up of a new plant with a capacity of 600 cubic mtrs of MDF per day in Andhra Pradesh at an estimated investment of Rs 350 crore. The project is likely to be funded through internal accruals and debt. The plan may require around 60-100 acre. The company is holding discussions with few German companies or supply of machinery for its proposed plant.
