The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) is likely to construct the 330-mtrs container berth in Mumbai within a year.
The company has handed over the LoA of the project to DP World, Dubai. The maximum construction period for the project according to the tender conditions is 24 months from the date of award of concession. DP World, which won the project by offering 28.09 per cent of the revenue with the Government, will have to sign the concession agreement with in 30 days. DP World was the single bidder for the container berth which will have the capacity to handle 80-lakh containers per annum.
