1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

Jammu & Kashmir Government plans hydel power projects

The Jammu & Kashmir Government is setting up three hydel mega power projects in the state.

The state government will set up the projects with the cumulative capacity of 2,220 MW of hydro-electricity with an investment of Rs 17,290 crore in the Phase I. Chenab Valley Power Projects will initially be involved in development of three power projects –Pakuldul, Kiru and Kawar – in  Jammu and Kashmir.

Of the total, Rs 8,847.81 crore will be utilised for Pakuldul HEP which is likely to generate 1000 MW of power. The completion schedule of the project is six years from the date of award of works. The power station will be under ground at village Dul about 26 km from Kishtwar which will have four units with the capacity of 250 MW capacity each and annual power generation from this project will be 3,228.41 million units.  

 The 660 MW Kiru hydel power project will be a run of river scheme located about 42 km from Kishtwar. It envisages construction of 135 mtrs high dam and an underground power house. It is estimated to cost Rs 4,068 crore and annual generation from this project will be 2301.81 million units.

The Rs 4375.50 crore Kawar hydel power project with generation capacity of 560 MW is also located 38 km from Kishtwar. The dam of the project will be 100 mtrs high concrete gravity dam. The power house will be underground with four units of 140 MW capacity each. The project is schedule to be completed in 54 months from the date of award of works.

Also, plans are afoot to develop 450 MW Dulhasti hydel power project in Phase II.
