JK Paper has signed an MoU with the Myanmar Government to pick up equity and revive the state-owned Thar Paung Paper and Pulp Mill.
JK Paper is in the process of studying the business process and will prepare a business plan in two to three months. However, the details on the valuation and quantum of investment have not yet been decided. Thar Paung Paper and Pulp Mill has an annual pulp production capacity of 70,000 tonne and paper capacity of 15,000-17,000 tonne. Of which the company has plans to utilse 10,000-15,000 tonne of pulp in Myanmar and ship the rest to India.
