The Neev Group on 23 October 2012 handed over the keys of the Ambedkar Nagar Slum Rehabilitation Project to the Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC).
The completion of Ambedkar Nagar by Neev group is a significant milestone in KDMC’s slum rehabilitation project since it is the first of the twelve packages to achieve completion. The KDMC Slum Rehabilitation work is being implemented in 12 separate packages. Ambedkar Nagar, which is package No. 8, has been built and handed over by Neev Infrastructure. Ambedkar Nagar comprises of four buildings of ‘Ground + 7’ storey aggregating a built up area of 12,751.71 sq mtrs. (i.e. 1,37,258.30 sq ft). A total of 308 flats have been handed over.
The KDMC had embarked on this project, in order to provide affordable homes to slum dwellers in the area, thereby enhance their standard of living. The project received further impetus by the state government along with the Central Government by sanctioning the funds for the plan. This scheme was implemented through the Basic Services to Urban Poor (BSUP) programme under JNNURM.
