The Volkswagen Group plans to set up a new assembly plant in India.
The company will invest up to 40 million euros (about Rs 280 crore) as an initial investment on a new engine assembly plant in India. The plant is expected to manufacture about 1.5 lakh units per annum. However, the location for the proposed facility has not yet been decided. There are plans to supply the engines to four group brands, Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi and Porsch.
