The 177 km
Peddapalli-Karimnagar-Nizamabad railway link, being implemented by South Central
Railway, has been partially commissioned. The first passenger train made its
journey on the 35.53 km Peddapalli-Karimnagar stretch on 15 February 2001. It
may be recalled that the Railway line was opened for goods traffic in April
2000.
The foundation stone for the
ensuing section between Karimnagar and Nizamabad was also laid on that day, at
the hands of Minister for State for Railways, Mr. O Rajagopal.
