1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

Tamil Nadu Govt. signs 12 MoUs worth Rs 20,925 cr

The Tamil Nadu Government on 5 November 2012 signed 12 MoUs with different companies from various sectors, envisaging investment of around Rs 20,925 crore.

The companies that have signed MoUs include Hyundai Motors India, Indo Rama Group of Companies, ADD Industrial Park (TN), BGR Energy Group Companies, Harsha Group of Companies, Saint Gobain Glass India, Danfoss Industries, Nokia India, Sanmina-SCI India, Tube Investments of India, Amway India Enterprises and TVS Group Companies.

Hyundai will be investing around Rs 4,000 crore for setting up an engine plant, on new models and others. The duration of MoU is for seven years and the company has already started the investment to increase engine capacity at Sripermbudur unit, near Chennai, by around three lakh flexible engines. At present the engine capacity is around six lakh units.

The TVS Group will expand Padi and Oragadam facilities at an investment of Rs 700 crore. These include expanding TVS Motors two-wheeler production to two million from 1.35 million units per annum and Sundaram Clayton's auto components facilities.

BGR Energy Systems will be setting up a manufacturing facility for supercritical boilers, Turbine and Generators in technical collaboration with Hitachi Japan and Hitachi Europe. The project would attract investment of around Rs 2,750 crore. Both the partners – BGR Energy and Hitachi – will be investing Rs 2,750 Crore in establishing manufacturing facilities for BGR Boilers and BGR Turbines Company, at two locations in Cheyyur Taluk, Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. The manufacturing facilities are expected to be operationalised in phases from the last quarter of 2013-14.

This apart, the other investments included Danfoss (Rs 500 crore), Sanmina-SCI (Rs 250 crore), Nokia (Rs 250 crore), Amway (Rs 300 crore), Saint Gobain (Rs 400 crore) and Rs 3100 crore ADD Industrial Park which will set up a textile park in Coimbatore.
