An Ayurveda museum has been set up by Vaidyaratnam at Thaikkattussery near Thrissur in Kerala.
The Ayurveda museum has been set up with an investment of Rs five crore and will be inaugurated on 27 December 2013 by A P J Abdul Kalam, former president of India.
The major reason to set up the Ayurveda museum is to preserve the ancient tradition of Ayurveda as a safe medicinal system.
The exhibits in the museum include authoritative texts, description of various ancient practices of black magic, study of Vedas, Yaagas and Yajnas, Gurukula system, Rasasalas or pharmacies of ancient times etc.
Also, it consists of audio visual shows and presentations, a picture gallery and a collection of specimens of more than 300 medicinal plants. The history and evolution of ayurveda is covered through audio-visual presentation in a mini-theatre.
