Bakkavor expands Somerset desserts plant
26 April 2011: Bakkavor plans to expand its Isleport premium desserts site in Somerset in South West England.
The company has submitted the proposed plan to Sedgemoor District Council. The plan includes building two large extensions to an existing site. The extension to the main unit alone will increase factory space by 1,200m2, while a proposed goods-in extension will cover 690m2. Constructed in 1998, the existing Isleport Foods site was bought by Geest in 2000, and was thereafter merged into the Bakkavor Group.
