Bright Dairy plans new dairy
26 April 2011: Bright Dairy from China, is likely to invest about CNY1.4 billion (Rs 840 crore) to build a new plant in Shanghai.
The plant, which will make fresh milk, UHT milk and yoghurt, is likely to commence operation in 2013. With annual production capacity of about 6,00,000 tonne, Bright expects it will add CNY4.64 billion (approx Rs 2,784 crore) to its annual sales. Shanghai-based Bright, part of the Bright Food conglomerate, has 26 dairy plants across China to meet local demand but it is not clear if any of them will be replaced by the new plant, Gong added.
