Confidence Petro plans LPG plants in Indonesia

9 January 2010: Confidence Petroleum India (CPIL) is planning to open 10 LPG bottling plants in Indonesia with an investment of Rs 75 crore.

The Indonesia Government has been implementing a programme to replace kerosene as fuel with LPG. The scheme is being implemented through Pertamina, the Indonesian government-owned national oil corporation that extracts and refines the country’s oil and gas reserves. The Indonesia Government has already started distributing seven crore new LPG connections to below the poverty line families. It is also supplying 3-kg LPG cylinders free.

CPIL had already established an LPG manufacturing facility and a bottling unit in Indonesia in June 2009.
