Corys bags a contract in Slovakia
1 June 2011: Corys has awarded a multi-million euro contract for the renovation of the Slovenske Elektrarne Mochovce Units 1-2 and Bohunice V2 nuclear plant training simulators in Slovakia.
The simulator upgrade projects will be performed jointly by Corys and Corys Thunder, its U.S. subsidiary, and will also benefit from the support of Corys long-term Slovak partner VUJE a.s. The Mochovce Units 1-2 simulator, originally built by GSE Systems, Inc. (U.S.), will undergo a platform and instructor station replacement along with the replacement of most of the simulator models and the I/O system, providing significantly accurate representation and precision enhancements. The Bohunice V2 simulator, which was built by Corys, will be rehosted to a PC platform and many of the models will be upgraded to the latest Corys technology, fully reflecting the major modernization and size of the enhancement of programs carried out on the reference plants over the last 5 years. Both simulators will be used for operator training and licensing of VVER440 V213 pressurized water reactor (PWR) units.
