Dutch firm set up bitumen unit in Gujarat
6 February 2010: Netherlands based Ooms Polymer Modified Bitumen plans to enhance its capacity and set up its fifth facility in Gujarat.
Currently, the company is procuring land and seeking necessary approvals. The facility is likely to come up in one and a half years. According to sources, the company is planning to double its capacity to 40,000 tonne of modified bitumen.
Polymer modified bitumen is an advanced form of bitumen that ensures longer life of the roads, thereby reducing maintenance costs.
