FCT eyes education infrastructure development
31 January 2012: In a bid to address the problem of overcrowding in public schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the Education Secretariat of the FCT administration last year constructed 1,413 classrooms in both primary and secondary schools in the Territory.
A breakdown of the figure indicates that a total of 1, 299 classrooms were constructed in primary schools, while 114 classrooms were constructed in secondary schools. Around 309 classrooms were rehabilitated and renovated in primary schools, while school fences were constructed for 32 schools. On the other hand, 74 classrooms were renovated in secondary schools in the FCT.
