General Motors to launch new Cadillac models
5 August 2011: General Motors plans to launch two models of Cadillac luxury, a full-sized front-wheel-drive car, XTS and a smaller rear-wheel-drive performance car, ATS.
The XTS, is aimed at traditional, older Cadillac buyers and those who want a front-wheel-drive luxury car whereas the ATS will emphasize performance and handling and is aimed at younger buyers who would go for the BMW 3-Series or other German performance sedans. The XTS will be built at a factory in Oshawa, Ontario with a $117 million (approx Rs 520.65 crore) investment. The ATS will be built at the Grand River plant in Lansing, Michigan with a $190 million (approx Rs 845.5 crore) investment.
