Heidelberg, Beta Tek ink contract for cement plant in Tula

February 16, 2009: Tulacement LLC, which is owned by Germany's Heidelberg Cement signed a contract with Turkey's Beta Tek on the construction of a $200 million cement plant in Russia's Tula region.

The plant will have capacity to produce 2 million tonne of cement per year and will be built in the town of Novogurovsky in the region's Aleksinsky district in 16 months. An agreement had been reached with Heidelberg Cement on the construction of a second phase of the plant with capacity of 2.2 million tonnes of cement per year.
