IIFT institute in Uganda
6 June 2011: The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi, has been made the nodal agency for setting up India-Africa Institute of Foreign Trade (IAIFT) in Uganda. IIFT will help establish the B-school in Kampala under the Indo-Africa Summit Declaration at a cost of around Rs 70 crore.
IIFT will help in providing faculty, teaching, management development programmes and research before handing it over to the local authorities. The brick and mortar structure will be built by the government of Uganda.
Under the agreement, the host government will provide the necessary infrastructure support such as land and building, and IIFT will ensure that the institute becomes functional in teaching, research and capacity-building activities.
