KGHM Ajax to develop the Ajax mine project
18 June 2011: KGHM Ajax Mining Inc. is proposing to widen the Ajax Mine Project, a copper-gold mine located to the south of Kamloops with a production capacity of up to 60,000 tpd of mineral ore. The project has an expected lifespan of 23 years.
The Canadian Environmental Assessment
Agency is making available $50,000 (approx Rs 22,75,000 crore) under its
Participant Funding Program to assist groups and individuals to participate in
the federal environmental assessment of the proposed Ajax Copper-Gold Mine
Project in British Columbia (BC).The Agency administers the federal
environmental assessment process, which identifies the potential environmental
effects of proposed projects and measures to avoid or mitigate those effects, in
support of sustainable development.
