Maharaja Appliances offloads stake to Groupe SEB of France

26 December 2011: Maharaja Appliances has sold 55 per cent equity stake to the European company Groupe SEB.

The company has been on the lookout for a strategic partner for sometime now, and talks with this French company has been on for the last couple of months. Maharaja Whiteline has a range of 65 products in various categories – from food processors and electric kettles to air-coolers, cook tops and chimneys. It has a manufacturing facility at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh. Through a little over 350 distributors, the company's products are available in more than 20,000 outlets across the country.
