Nestle Waters acquires tea company
11 May 2011: Nestle Waters has consented to acquire Sweet Leaf Tea which includes the Sweet Leaf and Tradewinds beverage brands.. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval. Sweat Leaf, which makes a range of natural and organic iced teas as well as other soft drinks. In 2009, Nestle had invested about $15.6 million (approx Rs 69.42 crore). With access to the manufacturing and distribution network, the premium tea company and its Sweat Leaf and Tradewinds brands, Nestle will be able to expand their reach further.
