Saudi Aramco, Dow to build petrochemical facilities

26 July 2011: Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical Co will spend $20 billion (approx Rs 91000 crore) on a JV, Sadara Chemical Co to build petrochemical facilities that will tap Saudi Arabia.s vast oil and natural gas reserves.

The project is split into 26 units. The first production units are expected to come on line in the second half of 2015. Once the unit is fully operational in 2016 the JV in Jubail, will produce more than 3 million metric tonnes of chemical products and plastics per annum.
