Schaeffler plans investment for Asia

20 July 2010: Schaeffler, a bearings and clutch maker, plans to invest around Euro 300 million (approx $389 million) by December 2012 to build three new factories and expand capacity at its existing 11 plants in Asia.

Schaeffler will set up two green field sites in China to produce rolling bearings and powertrain components, while another automotive parts plant would be opened in India. Separately, capacity will be further expanded in China, India, Korea and Vietnam.
