Toshiba, B&W to invest in USEC
27 May 2010: Toshiba Corporation and Babcock & Wilcox Investment Company, an affiliate of The Babcock & Wilcox Company, have signed a “definitive agreement” to a three-phased investment of $200 million in USEC.
The investment is subject to satisfaction of specific preconditions, including regulatory approvals. The investment is reported to strengthen USEC’s financial position as it prepares for deployment of the American Centrifuge Plant and re-applies for $2 billion in loan guarantees from the Department of Energy.
