Zara to be launched in India

4 February 2010: Spanish fashion retailer the Inditex Group is gearing up to launch its high street fashion brand Zara in India. Zara is learned to have selected showroom space in Select City Walk, in Saket in New Delhi.

According to the JV signed in 2009, Inditex holds 51 per cent stake while Trent holds the remaining 49 per cent. Zara has retail outlets in 68 countries.

Zara is the flagship store of the Inditex Group owned by Spanish tycoon Amancio Ortega, who also owns brands such as Massimo Dutti, Pull and Bear, Oysho, Uterque, Stradivarius and Bershka. The first Zara store opened in Spain in 1975.
