FDI inflows in India drop in 2010
24 January 2011: Global flows of FDI remained unchanged between 2009 and 2010, at $1.1 trillion, as per report released by UNCTAD.
However, there was a sharp shift away from developed economies, as a result of which, for the first time, developing and transitional economies walked away with more than half of all global flows.
But, though it was a rising tide, so far as the developing world was concerned, not all boats rose with it.
India, in particular, had no reason to cheer. FDI flows dropped 32 per cent.
