Development schemes initiated for Mangalore
24 August 2010: The Karnataka Government on 23 August 2010 embarked on various development projects worth Rs 54 crore in Mangalore in Karnataka.
The projects for which the foundation stones were laid included a ropeway between Sultan Battery and Tannirbavi in Mangalore and a new building for Mangalore City Police Commissionerate. The B S Yeddyyurappa, Chief Minister of Karnataka, also inaugurated the 33-kV electricity sub-station of Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (Mescom) at Kadri in the city.
