Dravida Peravai seeks nod for East Coast Chennai-Cuddalore link
23 February 2010: The Dravida Peravai has requested approval for the East Coast Chennai-Cuddalore rail link in the forthcoming railway budget, which is expected to entail a cost of Rs 523 crore.
The project, which was conceived as a component of the ambitious project to connect Chennai to towns along the East Coast up to Kanyakumari, envisages a new line from Chennai to Cuddalore via Mamallapuram and Puducherry.
