Funds allocated for infrastructure
14 August 2010: The Tamil Nadu Government has allotted a sum of Rs 25.18 crore has been allotted for taking up infrastructure works in Thanjavur town in view of the Millennium celebrations of the Big temple. The events are spread over 25 and 26 September 2010.
Works to be taken up include improvement of roads, carrying out developments at old and new bus stands, arranging for street lights from Big Temple to Medical college, widening of bridge across Grand Anicut canal near Big Temple, and improvement of Samanthan Kulam.
