Funds for beach development
13 August 2010: The Karnataka Government has sanctioned Rs 5 crore for the development of Karwar Beach.
Of the sanctioned amount, Rs 1 crore has been released. The district administrationhas been asked to develop the beach using good technology. The officials have been asked to develop a low budget park to attract tourists and also preserve the environment. Facilities will be provided for tourists who come to Karwar to reach Murudeshwar and Gokarn. A multiplex will be built at Karwar as also a new fish market will be built at a cost of Rs 4 crore. A new stadium will be built in Karwar in a phased manner by investing Rs 6 crore.
