Funds for road development in Kurukshetra

25 February 2010: The Haryana Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Department is likely to spend a sum of over Rs 34.93 crore on construction and widening of National Highway Number six and other roads in district Kurukshetra.

The widening of Saharanpur-Pehowa road is likely to a cost of Rs 52.95 lakh and out of this amount Rs 52.08 lakh had already been spent. The road was also being extended from Pehowa to Cheeka at a cost of Rs eight crore and out of this amount over Rs 4.39 crore had already been spent.

Besides, over Rs 17.51 crore will be spent on the widening and construction of State Highway Number six and work on this project had already been started. In addition to this, repair of four roads had also been undertaken in the district at a cost of Rs 62.48 lakh and repair of three roads had already been completed at a cost of Rs 34.05 lakh.

Further, Ambala-Hisar road from Dhanirampura to Chhajupur was being strengthened at a cost of over Rs 1.65 crore and out of this amount Rs 11.15 lakh had already been spent. The construction of Jhansa-Mandi-Bachki Road and Naisi via Madran Road at Ambala-Hisar road will soon be taken up at a cost of Rs 4.63 crore and over Rs 1.97 crore respectively.
