Funds set aside for roads in Tuticorin
14 August 2010: The Tamil Nadu Government has set aside Rs 40.25 crore for development of road infrastructure in various parts of the district under Comprehensive Road Infrastructure Development Programme.
Roads over a stretch of 117.23 km will be developed. Culverts and minor bridges numbering 24 will be built. Roads on State Highways up to a stretch of 29.23 km will be laid with 16 culverts at an estimated cost of Rs 18.23 crore. Tenders to will be floated soon. The work was expected to be completed by March 2011.
