Gadchiroli development budget allocation increased

24 February 2010: The Maharashtra Government has reportedly announced a quadruple hike in the development allocation for the Gadchiroli district in the coming year.

For the financial year 2009-10, just Rs 17.30 crore had been sanctioned for Gadchiroli. But the state government has raised this to 70.03 crore for the year 2010-11, an increase of 52.73 crore.

The state government has allotted Rs 10 crore each for road development and to the collector of Gadchiroli. The latter amount is to be spent by the collector on any project that comes up spontaneously. Another significant allocation of Rs 5 crore is for tourism development.
