Master plan for MCH (core area) released
23 August 2010: The master plan for the erstwhile Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (core area) has been cleared on 21 August 2010, by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) department.
The master plan for the core city has been revised by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), which has been accepted by the municipal administration department. The revised master plan draft was released through a notification on 17 December 2009, and MA&UD had invited objections and suggestions from citizens.
Workshops with all stakeholder departments and a consultative meeting were also conducted by HMDA on the revised draft master plan for the city. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had also suggested several changes, particularly road width and land uses in certain areas.
After taking their objections and suggestions into consideration, the state government has cleared the draft master plan along with land use zoning and development promotion regulations.
