Starwood's Aloft plans expansion
24 August 2010: Starwood Hotels & Resorts has planned an aggressive expansion programme for the Aloft Chain, which specifically targets the young traveller.
With two of the 44 Alofts globally, in Chennai and Bangalore, it plans to have four more within the next two years. One will be in Coimbatore by December 2010 and two in Ahmedabad and Chandigarh in 2011. Bengaluru will get a second Aloft by December 2012.
Starwood Hotel operates over 1,000 hotels in nine brands globally, has six brands in India including the Meridien, which has been around over two decades, and the Aloft, its latest offering launched globally a couple of years ago. The other brands of Starwood Hotel include the Sheraton, St Regis, W, Element and Luxury Collection.
