Various projects lined up for rural cops
23 August 2010: Director General of Police (DGP) has announced schemes worth Rs 10 crore for buildings in the Kathiawada district in Gujarat.
The announcement, made on the behest of Gujarat Police Housing Corporation (GPHC), includes new police stations, offices for deputy superintendents of police (DSP) and inspectors and housing quarters.
According to Ahmedabad rural police officials, the request for modernisation was pending for some time. While Viramgam and Dholka will get new police stations, Aslali and Viramgam will have new offices for circle police inspectors (CPI) and DSPs. Sanand and Detroj will have new police line buildings scheduled to start by December 2010.
