Vedanta, NITR teams up for waste utilization

13 August 2010: Vedanta Aluminium (VAL) on 12 August 2010 signed an agreement with National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, to develop technologies for utilisation of waste generated in the alumina industry.

VAL will provide financial and technical support towards conducting the research and development projects. The company has handed over a cheque of Rs 21.2 lakh to the institute as an initial deposit for undertaking the work.

The pact includes exchange of expertise between two organizations for skill up gradation as well as future research through master and doctorate in technology program.
