Abu Dhabi runveils plans to build 1,500MW power plant

18 October 2011: Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (Adwea) is to unveil plans this year to build a 1,500-megawatt power plant. Electricity demand in Abu Dhabi is growing at 12 per cent a year, while water use is likely to rise at an annual rate of 5 per cent . The facility will also produce 100 million gallons of water.
