Airport tower in Abu Dhabi by June
26 February 2010: The new air traffic control centre tower (ATC) in Abu Dhabi is scheduled to begin operations by June 2010.
The air traffic control tower is a part of the $6.8 billion redevelopment plan for Abu Dhabi International Airport. The 109 mtrs, 20-storey tower is situated between the first and second runways at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
In late 2008, Abu Dhabi Airports Company awarded France' Thales a contract for the tower.
