Bahrain General Organisation of Seaports plans port upgradation

29 September 2011: Bahrain's General Organisation of Seaports plans for a major upgrade of the kingdom's Khalifa Bin Salman Port. The upgrade will include a new parking area for 40,000 vehicles, a number of warehouses, two office buildings and other facilities like petrol stations and banks. Work is expected to start soon and will take two years to complete. Bahrain's old Mina Salman Port will soon be converted into a dock exclusively handling construction materials.
