Bahrain plans to build hanging garden

25 January 2012: Bahrain is planning to build its first hanging garden, said a senior official, adding that the Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs Ministry is mapping out the designs.The 2,000 sq mtrs garden will be on the roof of a new car park building.

This follows the recent opening of one of Bahrain's biggest parks in nearby Hidd. HRH the Premier officially inaugurated the BD6 million ($15.9 million) Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Park, which includes a walkway as well as a shopping area for visitors and an artificial lake that will be used for boating.
