Construction commences on Dubai steel plant
23 August 2010: BRC Arabia has broken ground on the Phase I of a new $100 million (approx Rs 460 crore) steel plant at the Dubai Industrial City.
The new plant will produce around 75,000 tpa of steel rebar, steel mesh and drawn wire. It will be built on the edge of Dubai Industrial City, close to the Dubai-Abu Dhabi border. The Phase I of the new plant will double BRC Arabia's current total capacity to around 150,000-t/y with a potential the Phase II increasing that further to 225,000-tpa.
