Dubai to combine district cooling operators
9 August 2010: Two of Dubai's providers of district cooling could be merged by the emirate's Electricity and Water Authority, following cases of shutting down air conditioning for some residents. Palm District Cooling (PDC), owned by Dubai World, and Empower, owned by TECOM and DEWA, will have its district cooling operations overseen by a new division being formed at DEWA.
