Greek construction firms keen in Middle East projects
5 December 2011:Greek construction firms are eyeing opportunities in the GCC region. The UAE and Saudi Arabia have announced ambitious infrastructure projects, which are attracting the attention of major Greek firms. Last month, GEK Terna has won two deals for the construction of two large parking garages in Bahrain and Qatar worth a total of €138m. The company, which already has a presence in Abu Dhabi, opened a subsidiary in Saudi Arabia a few months ago. Another construction firm, Ellaktor has also established a presence in Qatar, Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
