Iraq Government to launch urban renewal project
17 June 2011: The Iraq Government plans to invest $730 million (approx 3321.5) into the first phase of the rehabilitation of Sadr City, Baghdad. The government plans to construct 82,000 housing units in the city.
Sadr City called as the Thawra
District - is one of nine administrative districts in Baghdad which was built in
1959 by PM Abdul Karim Qassim and later unofficially renamed as .Sadr City.
