Iron industrial unit in Wassit
15 June 2011: The foundation for an iron and steel factory at a cost of $24 million (approx.109.2 crore) is laid down in Wassit in Iraq.
Wassit's Investment Commission authorized, since its establishment in 2007, 10 permits in different sectors. The plant is located at Kut, the center of Wassit territory, lies 180 km south east of the capital, Baghdad.
