Japan to raise more oil from Saudi, Qatar

11 January 2012: Saudi Arabia and Qatar are posturing to supply Japan with more oil in case of a shortage due to sanctions imposed on Iran. Saudi Arabia and Japan pledged to boost cooperation in the energy sector with a proposal to provide more oil to Tokyo if a disruption of supply resulted from new sanctions imposed on Iran by the West.
