Leighton secures contract for oil expansion project in Iraq

Singapore-registered Leighton Offshore, part of Australia's Leighton has been awarded a $518m contract for an oil expansion project in Iraq, Reuters has reported. According to the terms of the contract, Leighton is to build a single point mooring buoy with an export capacity of 900,000 barrels per day and construct a 48-inch sea export pipeline to transport crude from storage depots in Iraq's southern Faw peninsula to the new floating terminal, said the Iraqi government spokesman, Ali al-Dabbagh.
